The network was losing patients to competitors and direct-to-consumer telehealth providers who offered seamless digital experiences. Their legacy patient portal had a 68% mobile abandonment rate. Providers were spending significant time on appointment coordination and prescription refill requests that could be automated. Most critically, the platform needed to be HIPAA-compliant from the ground up — not retrofitted.
We architected a HIPAA-compliant platform from day one — encrypted data at rest and in transit, audit logging, role-based access controls, and a Business Associate Agreement framework. The patient app provides appointment booking, Twilio-powered secure video consultations, prescription refill requests, lab result delivery, and care team messaging. The provider portal gives clinicians a unified patient timeline, video consultation tools, and integration with existing EHR systems via HL7 FHIR APIs.
HIPAA compliance scared off two agencies before we found Elite App Design. They understood the requirements from the first conversation and built the architecture correctly from the start. We have not had a single compliance incident and our patients have embraced the app faster than we expected.
